Land for Wildlife
HEN is the regional provider for the Land for Wildlife (LFW) program in the Hawkesbury.
The program is a non legally binding agreement to include conservation and wildlife habitat preservation as part of their land management.
Once HEN receives an Expression of Interest (from CEN who provides the statewide coordination for the program In NSW) HEN will allocate an assessor to complete a report including an on site walk around the property with the landholder. The landholder gets a copy of this report, including a list of native species, a list of non native species, and suggestions for improved conservation and wildlife habitat management.
HEN also facilitates regular property visits and educational sessions to connect Land for Wildlife landholders and foster education and support.
